This was from me answering via email a Richmond, VA CL ad today. Email was the only method the scammer had to contact him.
Hi
Thank you for being interested in buying my 2000 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. It has been extremely well maintained with a full service history, and has not been involved in any accident. It has only 15,626 miles, I drove it only on weekends but not every weekend, the car comes with a 8 Cylinder, 4.0 liter engine RWD. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the engine runs great. Title is clean, the car still smells new. I bought it when I was serving in Offutt AFB, Nebraska but I was promoted and transferred to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska for a 3 years period and I can use that money to buy a 4×4 truck over here.
I work for the USAF and although this is going to sound odd, I do not have the time for a ordinary sale, meet the buyer and shake hands so I left the car in eBay’s storage facility number 11 in Hebron, Nebraska to handle the sale therefore the shipping process will be handled by eBay, it is already paid by me so you won’t have to pay any extra charges. The shipping process may take 4 up to 6 days. The financial part will be managed by eBay, which mean you will have a 5 days inspection period before committing to buy the car. In this way both, buyer and seller are 100% covered during the steps of this transaction.
If you agree with my bottom dollar price $4800 and you are interested to conclude this purchase in a timely manner email me your: Full name, shipping address and phone number so I can inform eBay that I have a buyer!
