Well, this is a scam for sure and my 20 year old daughter lost $2000.00 after sending the money gram yesterday for this vehicle. I was alerted when she told me that the people handling the storage of the car, EBAY, wanted another $1000.00 as a deposit towards any damages during her 10 trial period with the car that was supposed to get delivered today and if she doesn’t send it, they will not deliver the car….not one word was mentioned during her communication about this extra $1000.00 until now. So, I found this site and wouldn’t you know it, that back on 3-28-2015, another lady had an ad for this same vehicle, using the same sob story about her husband dying, yada, yada, yada…..only then she was using the name of Gloria Cantrell. This time she is using the first name of Jessica, have no idea yet what last name she is using as my daughter doesn’t want to give it to me because she has to pay back a loan for a car that really doesn’t exist and she’s feeling dumb and stupid as she put it. I did manage to get the email address for this Jessica though and it is Jess42ms@gmail.com. The recipient of the $2000.00 was a Robert Campbell in Oklahoma, who was to receive a call that the $2000.00 was ready to pick-up and this is the number on her receipt: 1-888-910-3210. The earlier post from another person about this, is on page 8 down towards the middle of the page and it is 5 screen shot images from the person interested in the vehicle and the scammers responses. So, Jessica or Gloria or what ever your TRUE GIVEN NAME is….thanks a lot for ruining my daughter’s hopes of getting a car, as she is a waitress and works hard for her pay!! She was so proud of herself for buying the car that doesn’t exist, and now she feels like a fool for believing it would happen because she fell for the husband died story and she has a good heart. And as soon as I can get her to forward the emails to me and anything else she received from you…..I WILL MOST CERTAINLY POST ALL OF THEM HERE ON THIS SITE!! Instead os stealing an honest person’s money this way….get a job like responsible people do, you money grubbing low life!!

Found a 2004 Honda Accord DX for $1500 on Craigslist, VIN 1HGCM56354A160568 , phone number to contact was 570-884-4321. Sounded too good to be true. Got a text back to email dianabaker234@gmail.com, received a reply from jmichuta@cox.net. Told me they would contact me through Amazon and they would ship the car in 3 days and we would have 5 days to test drive or we could return. Searched the phone number came up in Pennsylvania, this car was supposedly in Alpena MI. The email stated she was getting divorced and moving to Omaha, NE. So we started searching before we did anything and have found all these scams say basically the same thing, and a lot of them involve Honda Accords. Just wanted to let anyone else know, this was listed on the Northern MI Craigs list.

Many advertisements for low mileage, good condition cars (most of the time Acura) with a suspiciously low asking price, seem legitimate up until the seller (who seems to be forthcoming) gives a long story about why he/she is selling the car, usually because of military station/moving reasons. They always offer doing business through a respected company (ebay, PayPal, etc.) And come up with some elaborate way for you to test out the car “risk-free”. (They say they’ll pay for shipping the vehicle) always want your full name, phone number, and address (red flags, not sure what they’d do with these if you didn’t send them money) so after they tell me they’ll ship it to me I’m aware it’s a scam and disconnect. While looking for a used car, I’ve investigated several listings for Acuras, and received this response several times. The latest one was from “nicholas.mistisshen@aol.com” for a 2004 Acura TL. He claims to be in the national guard, and says the USAF will fly the car in a cargo plane to a nearby base for me to look at. Who believes this stuff!?! Be on the look out!

I believe it’s a man pretending to be a woman (less apt to think it’s a scam). They had a sad story on why they were selling the truck. I called & texted the number given. They texted me back & said they had an emergency at the hospital. They never answered the phone. They only wanted to email back & forth. They couldn’t spell good & the words they used didn’t make sense. They were insistent I get 3 iTunes gift cards & scratch the back off & take a pic of them & the receipt. They advertisedon’t the truck in Craigslist out of Minneapolis, Minnesota but said they moved to Hamilton, Montana but the (443) area code on the cell phone the initial text came from is out of Baltimore & listed as a landline. I went back on Craigslist & it said it had been flagged & taken down. All the pics they sent of the truck had a reflection on the car of a man taking the pics. They sent me a paper that had Amazon Payments on the top & a Confirmation number for me. They put down a Customer Rep number but when I called it, it rang about 20 times & then it said they were unavailable. Live Chat was the same…Noone available. Now how is that. They then sent me a paper from Amazon Autos w/same Conf .# That (855) # just rang 20x & hungup. Why don’t they want to talk? Why only emails?
It was all so suspicious to me but what really got me was the misspelling & typing like they talk & the papers that claim to be from Amazon are spelled wrong too & just like the person behind this scam.

It’s definitely a scam all around.

If you see a car deal too good to be true on Craig’s list like 1,500 and you email person ask them to see the car and for them to call you, if they do not and say the car is in eBay warehouse ! Well eBay does not have a warehouse not do they have free shipping !! Those are fake !!! eBay does not send invoices! Not does it go from Craig’s list to eBay buying ! I received this upon inquiring about a used 2004 Nissan Maxims SE on Craigslist in the Inland Empire division. I was looking for a used vehicle to replace my Ford Explorer which is no longer running due to transmission going out . At the time I was pretty much a Craigslist noobie but after some common sense and research I now feel I have a pretty good grasp on how to spot the scammers . They try to draw you in by posting an almost ” to good to be true ” photo of a used vehicle and some made up story about why this is the perfect used automobile for you. Once you fall for it and send a message inquiring about purchasing this pretty much imaginary vehicle they promptly send you a reply telling you for sake of convenience that we will be using Amazon payments if you choose to purchase the vehicle and usually some made up sob story to sucker us gullible consusers into their scam. Well don’t fall for it ! I’ve included the actual response I received upon inquiring about a used 2004 Nissan Maxims in Craigslist ( Inland Empire ) online website. This is it :

so when I found my dream truck for a low price I was sure that it was a scam but figured I would play along for a few emails.

This one after first contact goes into telling me that he has been transferred overseas and the DoD will ship me his truck for free. I was like ok sounds good. Send me the link and I will but it right now.

Needless to say the emailed link was not Ebay. And it is definitely points to a scam since the number has multiple scam reports against it.
