craigslist scammer: sarah66anderson@gmail.com
Original emails:
Hi, I’m interested in the corolla you posted on craigslist a little while ago. would it be possible to schedule an appointment to look at it sometime in the next week or so? Is there anything I should know about it that you haven’t posted in your ad?
her reply:
Thank you for contacting me about my 2003 Toyota Corolla. The car is in great shape with 74k mileage, it’s automatic with 4-Cylinder. I’m the first owner, it was never been involved in accidents and has clear title.
I am selling it for $1,650 because my husband died 1 month ago (he had a heart attack) and brings me bad memories. Along with my daughter we decided to sell the house and moved to my brother in Washington, trying to start a new life.
I want to use eBay services, so if you’re interested in purchasing the car just reply me your full name, full address and phone number, so I can notify eBay. Once that is done, they will contact you in the next 24 hours to explain the entire procedure.
my reply:
Thanks very much for your quick reply, I really appreciate it. I’m very sorry about your husband, and I totally understand why you want to get rid of it quickly. I’d love to be first in line for this car if possible; I’m looking for a car that I can use for a cross country trip the beginning of august to return to school. I’d like to take a look at the car in person as soon as possible.
her reply:
Hi again the car is stored with all the paperwork in eBay warehouse number 29,in Lynnwood, WA headquarters in container, sealed and ready for delivery. The transaction will be made thru eBay because they can protect both of us and they also offer 10 days inspection period. You’ll have 10 days to test/drive the car before decided to keep it or not. If the vehicle is not like I described you’ll ship it back on my expense and they will give you a full refund. eBay will hold the funds until you receive the car with all the papers work. Only after you confirm them that you wanna keep it they will release me the funds. In this way you will be able to inspect the vehicle before committing to buy it.
i will contact eBay and i will proceed the deal. You will receive a notification from them with all the steps you need to follow to complete the deal. E-mail me when you will receive the notification from eBay
I then asked for an ebay number to look up the car and she replied with about 20 photos, but no ebay number.

OMG! The same person was advertising a 2003 honda accord for $1500 and I was just about to go through and pay for it. Good thing I emailed the warehouse she claimed it was at and came across this or I would’ve lost $1500 and I have kids. I actually believed her about her husband and felt bad but now I’m pissed. Why scam people?! $1500 That’s a lot to lose! Thank god for this site.

The C_Ts email address is erica54b@gmail.com
She asked for my address name and phone number I am really scared actually that she can do something with it. maybe sell it to ads or other scammers.
I think people that use death as a way to scam people are just empty souls.
I was wondering why she wanted this to happen so fast. And luckily I am smart enough to look up eBay auto they dont handle sh*T. I just think it sucks. and I hope ERICA or SHENICQUA or JOHN or whatever there names or name is gets a lesson and they learn from it or I fear what will happen to them – not with me but CARMA!! CUZ This is HORRIBLE!!!

Thank you for the quick response.
Wow I am so so so sorry to hear that. I do not know how to even take reading this. I feel so bad and if that were me I would do the same thing. I hope you guys are alright. I am very interested in the car and will be happy to put it to good use. Im a single mother and my car is a piece of metal now and things have gotten dramatically difficult. Nothing like what you are saying at all. I feel bad that it went down this way for you guys.
I was wondering if I can go take a look at it? Can I please have the VIN number?
**My name**
**My address**
**cell and home number** — [I KNOW I AM A DUMBA** FOR DOING THAT!!!]

This person is striking again with the same vehicle and back story. This time the email address is “kellywilson064@gmail.com”. Same location for the car “eBay warehouse number 29,in Lynnwood, WA”, but the Whois lookup of the originating IP in the full header declared Los Angeles, CA. I have reason to believe this person is using a service like Bananatag to track emails, which is why the most of their ads ask for people to bypass Craigslist servers by putting the scam artists direct email address under something like the condition of the car. Do not fall for it peeps!!
